This gem of a town is definitely not a hidden one but still a place to seek out for a wonderful day trip. <br /><br />Not too long ago Garachico was almost fully destroyed by the outbreak of the Arenas Negras volcano (we hiked around this volcano a week later) in 1706. Before the destruction of the town and harbor, Garachico was in a golden period, thanks to their harbor and trade.
